Build a captain. Live a life at sea.

Begin as a young sailor in Lisbon. Grow eight skills through choices, find a purpose for going to sea, choose a companion and ship, then follow a voyage with its own people, dangers and ending. Your current life saves in this browser.

How to play

  1. Choose a young sailor with a background and starting strengths.
  2. Make choices during youth. Your abilities grow, and an afternoon of your own sets your purpose for going to sea.
  3. Choose a companion and ship. Their strengths can help when the voyage becomes dangerous.
  4. Read each scene, take an action and see its outcome. Your preparation, cargo and earlier decisions can change later challenges.

One life. Many possible voyages.

Navigation, weather sense, sailing, repair, command, negotiation, courage and endurance shape your captain. Your wish may lead toward a season's catch, an ocean trade, a distant shore or a route through the world. The ending looks back at the wish and the voyage you actually lived.
