Why another pirate game?
Because the best story is still one damaged ship deciding whether to sail farther.
Beyond the Chart avoids the cost and empty distance of a giant open world. Its ocean is a sequence of consequential signals: enemy sails, a storm front, a market, a wreck, an island or something the chart refuses to name.
The current build concentrates on what can change a voyage—your command deck, hull, crew, modules, relics and the route chosen while supplies and certainty run out.

What are you actually looking for?
Three player needs lead to the same sea, but they should not be answered by the same generic landing page.
Looking for a modern game like Sid Meier’s Pirates!?
Beyond the Chart is an independent single-player pirate game for players who miss compact voyages built from meaningful choices. It keeps the fantasy of selecting a ship, plotting a dangerous route, fighting at sea, recruiting specialists and returning with rare discoveries, but rebuilds that fantasy as a focused browser roguelike instead of an open-world remake.

Beyond the Chart is a single-player naval combat game built around the decisions inside a sailing ship: when to fire, brace, repair, board or spend a limited command. Wind, route risk, hull condition, modules and crew shape each encounter. It is tactical rather than twitch-based, and it does not pretend to be a full real-time sailing simulator.

Beyond the Chart combines a node-based ocean route with deckbuilding naval battles. Each run asks you to choose a ship, reveal encounters, recruit crew, install modules, collect relics and refine a permanent command deck before the voyage ends. It is designed for players who want the escalating build logic of a roguelike without leaving the fantasy of commanding a sailing vessel.
