Salt & Oath · Interactive ship lab
The Salt & Oath ship lab is a free browser tool for designing a modular cutaway ship. Start from a preset, change the hull layout, equip each room and export the finished view or its editable configuration.

The builder
Pick from five presets, then adjust the hull from two to four columns and one to three decks. Add zero, one or two masts and choose a hull paint.
Choose a helm, cannon, workshop, sickbay, cargo hold or pump for a room. Set equipment grade and condition, then add details such as windows and lamps.
Switch between the assembled ship, an exploded view and a parts list. Review the lab's cost, load, crew positions and capabilities while you change the layout.
Undo and redo changes, download a PNG of the current view, or export and reimport a JSON configuration. The lab also saves the current design in this browser when storage is available.
How it relates to the game
The ship lab uses modular art that also appears in Salt & Oath. Its calculated cost, capacity and combat figures follow separate assembly rules; a lab design does not replace your campaign ship or change its save. In the game, ship growth happens at port between real-time crew battles.

You can change the hull dimensions and customize every room within the lab's modular parts and rules. It is a structured builder, with two to four columns and one to three decks.
The lab currently keeps its design and display calculations separate from the campaign save. You can export a PNG or JSON file, but there is no import into a run.
No. The ship lab opens in a desktop or mobile browser. JSON export lets you keep an editable copy outside the browser.
Open the lab, choose a preset and make each compartment earn its place.
