Salt & Oath is a playable real-time ship crew tactics game. Assign six companions to ship stations, pause when an enemy telegraphs its next shot, and decide who fights, repairs or moves out of danger.

One incoming broadside

The next order changes who makes it home.

The enemy shows where it is about to fire. Pause, read the target and move your crew before the shot lands. Every person sent below to repair damage leaves another station short-handed.

    Read the target

    See which compartment the enemy is threatening before committing the crew.

    Move six companions

    Put people on the helm, guns, sickbay or bilge; pull them away from a threatened room.

    Choose your response

    Fire at the enemy hull or suppress its guns while keeping your own ship working.

  4. 04

    Carry the cost

    Repair, train or expand at port; injuries and ship changes follow the next battle.

Crew over buttons

Four starting compartments. Six people. No spare hands.

The ship begins with a small crew and four working compartments. A gun needs an operator; a damaged room needs help; an injured companion needs care. Your build changes as you add rooms, improve stations and choose abilities over the six-battle voyage.

Before you board

Practical questions, clear orders.

Is the crew combat real-time?

Yes. The battle continues in real time, and you can pause to read an incoming attack and issue crew orders before it resumes.

Can I repair and upgrade the ship?

Yes. Between battles you can repair damage, train a specialist, improve a room or expand the vessel. Injuries and upgrades carry into later fights.

Do I need to download the game?

No separate installation is needed. Salt & Oath opens in a desktop or mobile browser and keeps progress in that browser.

Beyond the Chart gives you a command-card deck and time to plan each turn. Salt & Oath focuses on moving individual companions through a battle that continues when you unpause.
