01 · Contracting party
Know who provides the service before accepting.
Age of Seas operates the website, account service and Beyond the Chart game service. Legal, privacy and product-support requests may be sent to info@ageofseas.com.
Gumroad, Inc. is the merchant of record and non-exclusive reseller for purchases completed through Gumroad checkout. Gumroad's checkout and receipt identify the seller for that transaction; Age of Seas remains responsible for the game service, account binding and product support described here.
- +Service: the Age of Seas website, Beyond the Chart and related platform APIs
- +Account: email, display name, credentials, saves, orders and entitlements
- +Separate rules: Privacy Policy, Purchase and Refund Policy and Gumroad's checkout terms
- +Conflict: mandatory law and a specific product promise prevail
02 · Eligibility
Use the service only if you can make this agreement.
You must have legal capacity under the law that applies to you. A minor must use the public service with a parent or guardian's guidance. Users under 14 may not create an account or provide personal information unless a verified guardian-consent flow is available.
If you accept for an organisation, you represent that you can bind it. Accounts may not impersonate another person or organisation.
- +Provide accurate registration information
- +Keep credentials confidential
- +Tell support promptly about suspected compromise
- +One person may not sell, rent or transfer an account
03 · Account and security
You are responsible for activity you authorise.
Registration currently uses an email address, display name and password. We may require email verification, security checks or re-authentication for sensitive actions. We do not ask you to disclose your password to support.
You can sign out and can request correction, export or deletion as described in the Privacy Policy and Account Deletion Guide. We may temporarily restrict an account to investigate fraud, compromise, illegal use or a material breach, and will provide notice and a reasonable appeal channel where law and security permit.
- +Sessions have a limited lifetime
- +Passwords are stored as one-way hashes
- +Display names must be lawful and non-deceptive
- +Deletion does not erase records that law requires us to retain
04 · Licence and service boundary
Access is licensed, not sold.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access the service and use a lawfully obtained game build for its intended purpose. A purchase grants the described digital entitlement; it does not transfer source code, brand, artwork or other intellectual-property ownership.
Historical pages and educational tools may contain errors or interpretations. They are not certified navigation, safety, legal, medical or engineering advice. Game events are authored fiction or interpretation, not historical evidence.
- +Personal reading, linking and ordinary quotation are allowed
- +No extraction or republication of substantial parts
- +No circumvention, cheating, malware or unauthorised reverse engineering
- +Statutory interoperability, research and quotation rights remain unaffected
05 · Acceptable conduct
Do not harm people, systems or the integrity of play.
You may not use the service to violate law or another person's rights; harass, defraud or impersonate; distribute malicious code; probe non-public systems; evade access, payment or security controls; automate requests at a disruptive rate; manipulate orders or entitlements; or exploit defects for unauthorised gain.
If user-visible naming or communication features are introduced, additional content rules and reporting tools will be published before launch.
- +Report security issues privately
- +Do not publish credentials or personal data
- +Do not trade accounts or paid entitlements
- +Do not falsely claim affiliation with Age of Seas
06 · Availability, updates and termination
A developing world can change, but paid promises still matter.
We may update balance, content, interfaces, compatibility and technical requirements, or suspend features for maintenance and security. We will not use an update to remove a paid entitlement in breach of the product description or mandatory consumer law.
For material adverse changes to this agreement, we will give reasonable advance notice and state the effective date. You may stop using the service and delete your account. We may terminate service after notice for a material breach, except that urgent illegal or security risks may require immediate action.
- +Preview saves may require migration
- +Maintenance can interrupt availability
- +Material paid-service changes receive specific notice
- +Shutdown plans must address outstanding consumer rights
07 · Responsibility and remedies
Nothing here removes non-waivable rights.
We are responsible for losses caused by our breach to the extent required by applicable law. We do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury where applicable, or mandatory consumer and data-protection obligations.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by your unauthorised modification, incompatible environment, credential disclosure, third-party service outside our control or force majeure, provided we have taken legally required precautions and mitigation steps.
- +Service defects: contact support with reproduction details
- +Unauthorised charge: contact payment support promptly
- +Data incident: use the privacy channel
- +Consumer complaints and statutory remedies remain available
08 · Governing rules and contact
Try support first; keep every lawful dispute route.
This agreement is governed by the mandatory law applicable to the operator and to you as a consumer. Any choice-of-law wording may not deprive a consumer of mandatory protection in their place of residence.
Please send notices to info@ageofseas.com. If informal resolution fails, either party may use a competent court, regulator, consumer organisation, mediation or other dispute process available under applicable law. No clause grants Age of Seas unilateral final interpretation.
