01 · Original material
Original game expression remains proprietary.
Except where a specific credit or licence says otherwise, Age of Seas branding, Beyond the Chart game code and builds, original text, interface artwork and layouts, illustrations, audio, characters, dialogue, worldbuilding, and the original selection or arrangement of material belong to the disclosed operator or are used under licence from their rightsholders.
Buying, downloading, launching or viewing the service grants only the access and use permission stated in the User Service Agreement. It does not transfer ownership of source code, builds, artwork, music, characters or brands. The absence of a watermark or copyright symbol does not create an implied licence.

02 · Source boundaries
Third-party, open and assisted assets keep their own rules.
Third-party names, marks, museum or archive materials, documents, geographic data and linked content remain with their respective rightsholders. A specific credit, open licence or public-domain notice for an asset prevails over this general page, and users must check that source before reuse.
Some assets may be produced with generative or other assisted tools and then selected, arranged or edited by people. Tool use alone neither transfers another person's rights to Age of Seas nor guarantees that every output qualifies for copyright protection. Any claim is limited to rights actually held under provider terms, contributor agreements, demonstrated human contribution and applicable law.

03 · Permitted use
Link, quote and refer without taking the work.
To the extent allowed by law, you may link to public pages, identify Age of Seas or Beyond the Chart accurately, and make proportionate quotations or screenshots for criticism, research, teaching, reporting or accessibility with appropriate attribution. Normal personal, non-commercial use through the published interface is permitted.
Copyright does not monopolise historical facts, abstract ideas, game mechanics, methods of operation or independently created expression. Those boundaries do not permit copying protected code, audiovisual expression, dialogue, characters, artwork, or the original selection and arrangement of a substantial part of the project.

04 · Builds and assets
Do not copy, strip or redistribute the game.
Without permission or another lawful basis, you may not copy or distribute a game build; extract, sell or republish assets; distribute a modified build; operate a counterfeit or unauthorised server; sell virtual access; remove rights-management information; or evade technical protection measures.
Mods, fan projects and translations are not automatically licensed for distribution merely because they are non-commercial. Wait for a published mod policy or obtain written permission. Private security research should be reported confidentially, and nothing here restricts study, interoperability or other uses that applicable law expressly protects.

05 · Feedback and submissions
Feedback is usable; your existing work stays yours.
If you voluntarily send feedback without a separate confidentiality agreement, you grant the operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free right to use, reproduce and adapt that feedback without identifying you. This permission allows product improvement without making every suggestion a confidential submission.
You retain ownership of independently protectable material that existed before the feedback or is clearly identified as yours. Do not include another person's confidential information or copyrighted material unless you are authorised to submit it on these terms.

06 · Names and marks
Reference the project; do not impersonate it.
Age of Seas, Beyond the Chart, their logos, distinctive visual identifiers and product presentation may function as marks or other source identifiers to the extent protected by applicable law. Descriptive references, reviews and compatibility statements may identify them accurately.
Do not use those identifiers in a domain, app, game, account, merchandise line or promotion in a way likely to imply that an unofficial product is made, licensed, endorsed or operated by Age of Seas. A copyright notice is not a claim that names or short phrases are protected by copyright.

07 · Infringement notice
Identify the work, location and authority to act.
Send [IP NOTICE] to info@ageofseas.com with your name and contact details, the protected work, the exact Age of Seas URL or material, the rights basis, the requested action, a good-faith statement and evidence that you are the rightsholder or authorised agent. Relevant evidence may include source files, dated publication records, registrations, assignments or licences. Do not send unnecessary identity information.
We will acknowledge receipt, preserve relevant evidence, assess the claim, take proportionate interim or final action where appropriate, and notify the affected contributor when lawful. A counter-notice should identify the material, explain the lawful basis and include contact and authority statements.

08 · Fair process
A notice starts review; it does not decide ownership.
Do not use the process to suppress criticism, facts, public-domain material, independently created work or lawful quotation. Parties remain responsible for knowingly false claims or counterclaims under applicable law.
The operator may request clarification but will not demand unrelated sensitive information. Nothing here prevents a rightsholder or affected party from using a competent court, regulator or another lawful remedy.
